About the Artist

Piero Bergonzelli was born in Valenza, a small town on the banks of the Po river in the Piemonte region of Italy. Valenza is highly regarded as a leader in the art of jewelry manufacturing and design. There, Piero attended the school of G. Comolli where he studied the fundamentals of stone setting, designing and engraving. After graduating, he perfected his skills working in various jewelry companies including Frascarolo & Co. under the guidance of Antonio Petrolucci ( a former Bulgari jeweler.) who taught him proficiency in wax carving, new techniques of diamond setting, and the art of enameling. In 1968, a Valenza based Company named Robotti &Co. sent Piero to the Netherlands as an expert in jewelry production. After 1 year, Piero was relocated to New York to work in the 5th avenue office of Frascarolo & Co. Since then, Piero has contributed his ability and creativity to many prestigious companies such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpel and Tiffany. Piero specializes in 18K gold, silver, and platinum jewelry, and is most gifted at creating custom pieces. Piero personally designs, creates, finishes, and signs each limited edition piece.
